At JDP we are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about what we do with it. JDP specialises in executive search, management consultancy and professional networking across the legal profession. Your privacy is important to us and we take it seriously. We are committed to using your personal information in accordance with all applicable laws concerning the protection of personal information and not to do anything with your information that you would not reasonably expect.

Who controls my personal data?
The data controller is JDP Limited. It is registered in the UK, Company Number 2542589. The data controller’s representative is the Director of Data Protection, John Grimwade, and you can contact them at j.grimwade@jdplimited.co.uk

What data will the Controller collect and process?

  • Candidate data
    The categories of personal data are typically Résumé information: your name, your job title, your company name, employment history, educational history, professional qualifications, language skills, your email address and mobile phone number.

    We may collect any of the above personal information about you from publicly available sources, and third parties, including, under the following circumstances: (i) Sources and Referees may disclose personal information about you; (ii) our Clients may share personal information about you; and (iii) we may obtain information about you from publicly available third party sources (e.g., LinkedIn, firm websites, news reports, press releases).

  • Client data
    In the course of providing our service to you, we need to collect and use information about you or individuals at your organisation. Generally this amounts to contact details such as name, telephone number, email address and job title.
  • Source and Referee data
    We may process your contact details, professional details (such as job title, occupation, academic and professional qualifications and employment history and information about our connection to our candidate. We may collect this information directly from you and/or from publicly available sources (such as LinkedIn).
  • Vendor data
    We need some information from our vendors in order to communicate and pay for services provided.

Who will have access to the data?
Your information is maintained on JDP’s database which is secure and accessible only to JDP employees, and on our server, hosted by Cloud4, which is password protected and located in the UK.

We may share your information with any person where in our absolute discretion we believe it necessary to comply with legal and regulatory obligations and we may share your information with Clients who will need to process your information for the purposes of recruitment.

We may share information with any other person with your consent.

Will the data leave the UK?
Your personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the country in which you are resident. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country.

How long will the data be kept for?
We will retain information we collect from/about you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so. When we no longer have on ongoing business need to process your personal information, we will delete it.

If you wish to access, correct, update, or request deletion of your personal information, you can do so at any time by simply emailing j.grimwade@jdplimited.co.uk

When asked to remove a record from our database, JDP will retain minimal personal information in order to prevent future contact, to keep a record of the information disclosed to our Clients and Candidates, and to preserve JDP’s interests in accordance with any applicable legal requirements.
